Where are my last years tax returns?

Please follow the below steps for how to transfer information from the last year's tax return:

Transfer from a prior year is done at the start of a new return. If you’ve already started a TurboTax Online return, you can still transfer your information by starting a new one.

Here’s how to transfer information from your prior tax return:

If you used TurboTax Online last year

Visit the TurboTax website
Enter your credentials (the same as you used last year) and select Sign In
On the Great to see you again! screen, select Start a new return from the menu
Choose your preferred TurboTax Online product
On the How did you do your taxes last year? screen, select TurboTax Online, then Continue
On the Hello again! We're so glad you're back screen, select Yes, then Continue
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed through the file transfer process

If you used TurboTax CD/Download last year

Visit the TurboTax website
If you have a TurboTax Online account, follow the prompts to sign in (your credentials are the same as you used last year). If you don’t have an account, follow the prompts to create one and then sign in
If you already have a TurboTax Online account: After you sign in, on the Great to see you again! screen, select Start a new return from the menu
Choose the TurboTax Online product you’d like to use
On the How did you do your taxes last year? screen, select TurboTax CD/Download, then Continue
On the Let’s start with last year’s return screen, select Choose File
Find and select your prior-year TurboTax CD/Download file, then select Continue

To view a previous year’s tax return, you have the following options:

Retrieving the PDF copy of your tax return

If you saved a PDF copy of your return, find and open the PDF on your computer or device. The default file name is Name_Year_copy.pdf (example: Jonny_2022_copy.pdf).

If you used an online edition of TurboTax in tax year 2022 (excluding TurboTax Free):

Sign in to TurboTax for tax year 2022:
On the Great to see you step, scroll to the Access your filed returns section towards the bottom.
Select the Open link to see links to PDFs of your filed return(s).

Opening your return in online editions of TurboTax

Each new year of TurboTax Online is distinct from the year prior. To find your return for a certain year:

1. Sign into the TurboTax Online version for that year.

Tax year 2021: https://2021.turbotaxonline.intuit.ca
Tax year 2020: https://2020.turbotaxonline.intuit.ca
Tax year 2019: https://2019.turbotaxonline.intuit.ca

2. On the Welcome back step, select Continue next to the return you want to view to open the return.

Another option to view your returns:

You can find a copy of your submitted T1 General if you have registered for a CRA My Account. Your account should have the records of T1 General for the current year and the past 11 years that you filed under the tax returns view section. For anything older, you will need to contact the CRA directly at 1-800-959-8281 to request a copy.
