Is the Line 23600 from 2021 federal tax return from THIS year just past (2021 tax year filed 2022), or the year before (2020 tax year filed 2021)?

I am trying to file as separately as possible from my spouse. He just filed his taxes via an accountant and I don't think we have a copy of his 2021 federal tax return yet... unless this is asking for the tax return from LAST year (the 2020 tax year)?
