The short answer is no. TurboTax does recommend you prepare your spouse or common-law partner’s return at the same time as your own return, as this allows TurboTax to optimize deductions and credits, but you can’t transfer a refund to pay your spouse or common-law partner’s balance owing. Therefore, you also cannot pay the difference to Margaret's account. Each account is separate in your file at the Canada Revenue Agency. You will receive your refund and she will owe her own amount in full.

For more information please see our TurboTax article Can I transfer my refund to my spouse to pay their balance due?

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
