Box 26 of your T4 slip represents the amount of tax deducted from your employment income for Canada Pension Plan (CPP) contributions, and box 56 represents the amount of tax deducted for Employment Insurance (EI) premiums.
It's common for these boxes to initially appear blank on your T4 slip, as they will only be filled in if you had CPP and EI contributions deducted from your income during the tax year.
When you enter the information from your T4 slip into TurboTax, the software may automatically calculate the amounts for boxes 26 and 56 based on the other information you have entered, such as your income and tax withheld. This is done to ensure that your return is accurately calculated, and to make sure that you receive the appropriate CPP and EI credits for the tax year.
If you're still unsure why these boxes are being auto-filled, you may want to contact TurboTax Canada's TurboTax customer support for further assistance.
