Why am I being forced to pay just because I have taxable donations to file as well?

I don't want to pay to file my taxes, and the process has been fine up until I entered that I have charitable donations. Now I HAVE to upgrade??? I'm being forced to pay when I shouldn't have to. In fact I'm pretty sure it's illegal to charge fees for filing taxes.

    NETFILE is a free service from the CRA, However, preparing your taxes using TurboTax software may require you to pay to use the software.
