Hi, I came from Nigeria to Canada in December 13th 2022, but started work 27th March and started receiving rent assist at of March 29th. When do I start filing tax?

I have asked experts and they say I don't have to till next year. But people keep telling me to file my tax this month,that I will not have access to benefits anymore. I am confused,what do I need to know?

It may be beneficial to mail in a 0 income return so that your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) file is already created for next year. You will then be able to register for your CRA My Account and Direct Deposit so that everything will be ready to Netfile and for your credits.
