Hi,Where can I claim my rent as an expense?

    Are you self-employed? If not, and if you are wanting to claim rent- there is no where to claim rent as an expense unless it is used for business purposes otherwise you will simply add it in the "Provincial" section of your return.

    You can apply for the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit if you have a low to middle-income and you live in Ontario. This tax credit helps with rent and property taxes paid to your municipal government and is part of the Ontario Trillium Benefit.
