Where do you put a disability credit in tax return?

To qualify for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC), you must have a certified Form T2201 (DTC application) on file with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), or the claim will be rejected.

If eligible, TurboTax will calculate the credit and automatically apply it to the balance, which helps reduce how much is owed.

To claim the DTC, first fill out the personal information and build the tax profile in TurboTax to ensure optimal results, then follow the steps below:

    1. Sign in to the return.
    2. Select Find (magnifying glass) at the top right corner of the page.
    3. Write disability in the Find window.
    4. Select Disability Amount from the options that appear, then select Go
    5. When the Disability Amount screen appears, answer all the questions, then select Continue.
    6. TurboTax will do the rest.

For more information please see our TurboTax article Your Guide to the Disability Tax Credit 2022.

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
