Question

I work as an independent contractor (freelancer) but would like to be declared as a non-resident for tax purposes as I was in Canada for 8 weeks. Whats the procedure?

I'M from Quebec, but don't intend to live in Quebec anymore and got only a bank account to my name at the moment. My work as a freelancer was done outside Canada and I had no dealings with Canadian clients.

    If you want an official ruling by the CRA's on your residency status, complete Form NR74, Determination of Residency Status (entering Canada), or Form NR73, Determination of Residency Status (leaving Canada), whichever applies.
