Hi.  I am a California resident.  My nephew lost his job.  I paid for his car registration fee.  Do I qualify to use his car registration on my itemized tax return?  Thanks

    No.   You gave your relative a gift.  Gifts to individuals are not deductible on a tax return.  But it was nice of you to help him out.
