Help! Filed 2018 taxes saying I could be claimed as dependent but didn’t meet the criteria. Will I receive a stimulus check?
I realized I put that I could be claimed as a dependent on my 2018 tax forms, but didn’t meet the actual criteria. I was 21 and not a student. No one claimed me as a dependent.
I was waiting to file my 2019 tax return in fear that it would delay me receiving a stimulus check. But tonight, (April 17) I decided to do it since I still hadn’t received a check.
Will I not receive one? Will I have to wait till 2020 since I filed my 2019 April 17th? Does it matter that I said I could be claimed even though I wasn’t eligible? Help please.
