So I already received my second stimulus but was wondering if my unborn baby would be getting one later? I've heard from a couple friends that either in my 2020 or 2021 tax return there will be some kind of credit when I file but I'm not sure if they are actually right or just speculating. I'm just looking for a clear answer, thanks!

*sorry if this is the wrong category, I had no idea which one to pick.*

Only a baby born before midnight 12/31/2020 would qualify.

You will not claim a baby born in 2021 on a 2020 tax return--which is the tax year people are filing returns for right not.  So, no,, you will not receive stimulus money for a baby that has not yet been born.  When you file a 2021 tax return -- in 2022 -- you will be able to claim your child as a dependent then.  Til then,  stay safe.
