So I happened to just fix my taxes and just sent in my paperwork. Will this mean I can finally get a stimulus check? Or does this mean that I won't receive it because I'm too late?
I originally stated that I was claimed as a dependent which was incorrect I was never claimed.
Unfortunately, the IRS currently is not processing mailed in returns (amended or original returns). They will not start processing mailed in returns until they re-open. Your amended return might not get processed in time. Since the stimulus money is an advance on your 2020 return, you can claim it on your 2020 return (filed in 2021), if you don't get it from your 2019 amended return.
