Stimulus Check/Dependent

I always thought i had to hit i could be claimed as a dependent ( from false information ) and to just select no for if that someone would be claiming me on their taxes. Now realizing that’s not the case and i should have been filing independently and left that option alone, i foolishly did that again this year for my taxes. The only person who has enough of my information to claim me would be my mom and she said she did not, does that matter at all? I was hoping they would check to see if you have actually been claimed, but i’m hearing that’s not the case. If not, if i ammend my taxes and fix it to where i cannot be claimed as a dependent, will i be eligble then for the stimulus check? Reading into it, I do not qualify for being a dependent so i had no business clicking that option anyways.
