Stimulus Check if I Was a Dependent in 2018 but not 2019?

So basically, in 2018 i was claimed as a dependent on my parents taxes. 2019 i started working and paying my own way. i filed my 2019 taxes on April 3rd & my parents filed in early february. they did not claim me and i did not check that i could be claimed as a dependent either. i made well over the $4000 or however much to be qualified as a dependent as well. I have not received a stimulus check though. I’m just wondering if the irs is going off of the 2018 info because my taxes weren’t finished processing by the time the first round of stimulus checks were sent out. but i have received ed my tax refund since then, on april 17th to be exact, and i still only get “payment status not available” on the get my payment tracker. will they get notified that i qualify now and update my eligibility and send me a stimulus check? or am i stuck with nothing because they’re only going off of 2018 taxes?

There is no definite answer to your question, only advice to keep checking the status because all stimulus payments have not been sent out yet.  They will continue to be paid throughout the year and the IRS has not released exact information for the order the payments are being made or what category of taxpayer will be paid next.

If for some reason you do not receive a stimulus payment based on your 2019 tax return, then you should be able to receive it as part of your 2020 tax return.
