Stimulus check question

Hello, I filed the 2018 tax return via TurboTax, paying the taxes to IRS from my bank account. I haven't filed the 2019 tax return yet.

In this case, will IRS have my bank account information? Will I receive a direct deposit or a check?

So far, I've received neither. When I check the 'get my payment' page with my exact address, the page always shows 'payment status unavailable.'

The IRS stated that they cannot use the banking information for taxpayers who owed taxes & used direct debit.  You will most likely receive a check in the mail.

Reasons You May Get “Status Not Available”

Get My Payment will return “Payment Status Not Available” if:

    • The application doesn’t yet have your data, or
    • You are not eligible for a payment.

    Didn't file a return in 2018 or 2019?

If you have a filing requirement and have not filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you must file a 2019 tax return to receive the payment.
