Stimulus check question

So on my taxes, I put that someone could claim me, not knowing that my mom wasn’t actually going to claim me this year. My mom did not claim me, so now I really don’t know if I will get the stimulus check. I know I could file an amended return, but I saw somewhere that the IRS isn’t processing them because they’re on paper? I don’t know what to do.

According to the information on the IRS site, if you were claimed as a dependent or can be claimed as a dependent, then you will not be eligible for a stimulus payment.  Having checked the box on your return that you could be claimed as a dependent will disqualify you from receiving a stimulus payment.

You could file an amended return to un-check that box, but it would need to be filed by mail as all amended returns are filed by mail.  This means it would take at least 16 weeks and probably longer for it to be processed.

If you do not amend your return and you are not eligible to be or actually claimed as a dependent in 2020, then when you file your 2020 tax return, you should receive the $1200 credit at that time.
