Stimulus payment

Hello,

Wondering if anyone is having this issue.  Whenever I go on the economic payment website to check status of my stimulus payment, I get the error "According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time." I am married filing joint with 2 kids under 17 and my AGI for 2018 was $175K and $173K for 2019.

When I filed my 2018 taxes, I owed money and did not provide any bank account information. However, I just filed my 2019 taxes on 4/2 and am expecting a refund.  Could the error on my stimulus payment be because of no direct deposit info on file from 2018 and my recent submission of my 2019 taxes that is still in processing?

Appreciate the feedback - thank you.

I used the non-filers tool here at TurboTax on 4/9 and it was accepted by the IRS and I am still not in the Get My Payment page at the IRS. I get the same error message as you.

Check this website and update your bank information if necessary.  AGI is line 7 on your 2018 return and line 8B on your 2019 return.  Refund is line 21a of the 2019 tax return. and line 20a for 2018

They said they get the error "According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time" on that page I believe. Same as me.

there are reports of inaccuracies in the press in certain cases.....

    it'll work itself out ...eventually....

    • The stimulus payments are really based on your 2020 tax return (income, dependents, etc).
    • The IRS is using either 2018 or 2019 – whatever is available  - to ESTIMATE that payment
    • When you file next year there will be a “settle up” section on the tax return.
    • If you are due more stimulus (and this would include where you simply never received it), you will receive it through the 2020 tax filing. If you received too much, by law, you are not required to return it
