Many people like to file their taxes as soon as possible; whether you hope to get your refund ASAP or just want to get the task out of the way, you’re not alone in early filing. Perhaps this is also your first time filing. Maybe you are excited to get started or maybe you’re worried you’ll have questions and want to get a head start. No matter your reasoning, the TurboTax Community is here for you. That’s why this month if you share why you’re starting on your taxes early, you will be entered to win a $100 gift card. A winner will be randomly selected on January 31, 2024.

I’m filing the earliest I’ve ever filed this year because my W2’s were available electronically . I didn’t have to wait this year for a mailed W2 and decided to be among the first batch of new filers. I filed early because my motto in life is don’t leave tasks until the last minute, it is important to not procrastinate.

Good morning Intuit/TurboTax Community members,

I am filing my 2023 taxes early because I like to know where I stand as far as whether I’m getting a refund or if I owe. I’ve been one of those unfortunate taxpayers who has owed money in the past and it can be extremely stressful being on that end of things.

BUT, this tax season I am extremely thankful and happy to say that I am one of the fortunate who are receiving a refund this year. I do owe a little $ from 2022 so first thing I’m going to do is pay the IRS it’s portion, which isn’t much thankfully, then I’m going to open a Credit Karma savings account and put the majority of the refund in it, and then last but not least I’m going to take my Mom out for a nice dinner!

I filed my taxes about 3 days ago. I file early every year to help move me forward towards my goals of the year. This year is to fix the head gasket of my car and be on the road again! I also plan on moving to Nevada in a few months.

TurboTax makes it easy! I was behind on my taxes but today I did my 3rd late year and I plan to file early for 2023 since I'm ON A ROLL!

I am filing early because I have been having some health issues, It makes things easier knowing that if I have to be out of work for a few weeks bills are covered while I recover.
