Question

Can I enter my corrected HSA distribution if I haven't received my corrected 1099-SA yet? I made a mistaken distribution and repaid the amount in February.

My HSA administrator said it would issue a corrected 1099-SA in May, so after my taxes are due. Not sure how to reflect this in TurboTax.

    What was the purpose of the original distribution? What was the distribution code in box 3 on your original 1099-SA?

     

    Was this distribution made in 2024? Was this a withdrawal of excess contributions?

     

    It's possible that you won't need to report the corrected 1099-SA until your 2025 return in early 2026, but I would like to know more about the original and the reason for the corrections.
