Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)

Click on Other Tax Situations 

Under Additional Tax Payments

On Extra Tax on Early Retirement Withdrawals, click on the start button

The TurboTax software will pull up IRS form 5329 Additional Taxes on Qualified Plans when it may be needed.

Within the software, you may see the screen Let's see if we can lower your tax bill.  The screen is followed by the various possibilities for reducing or eliminating the 10% penalty for early withdrawal of a qualified retirement plan.

You may also access the form by following these steps:

• Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
• Down the left side of the screen, click on Other tax situations.
• Click the down arrow to the right of Additional Tax Payments.
• Click to the right of Extra Tax on Early Retirement Withdrawals.
