Question

I am retired and did a withdrawal of $20,000 from IRA and have 1099R. I should owe CA tax, but turbo tax is showing I owe $0 but I should owe, why?

I know I need to pay CA tax for my IRA distribution, it would briefly show I owe $704 while I enter it, but once I click on next it will show $0 again. This is frustrating.

    What was the nature of the IRA distribution?  Please clarify.
