I retired in 2023. Now all of a sudden a W2 is required but no income. Help! How to zap?

    No---a W-2 is not required.   If you transferred your information in from 2023 and an old employer transferred in, the software will ask for your W-2.  You can delete the old employer.  And tell the software you do not have any W-2's

     

    Enter your retirement income:

     

     Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

     

     

    To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.

    Please look to see if there is a W-2 in your forms, perhaps one was carried over from a previous year. 

    If listed, delete it. 

     

    HERE are the steps to view and delete forms using TurboTax Online.

    Desktop users switch to FORMS.
