Question

Still haven't received 1099-B

I'm supposed to be receive a 1099-B for 2024. After checking on it, there is a chance I will not receive it before tax day. What are my options in this situation? Really stressed

You may file for an extension HERE and file your tax return after you receive the IRS form 1099-B.

 

Or you may file with the information that your have.  Then amend after you receive the IRS form 1099-B.

Log on to your financial institution website where you will find it.

everyone puts the 1099-B online now.

Mt brother-in-law's investment firm said they would no longer mail and expect him to go looking for it.

They refuse to send a digital copy and claim they can only mail a physical copy. They won't even give info over the phone. Super frustrating
