Why would NYS ask for our 1099's after they accepted our return?

It was accepted on 1/28 and I resent the 1099's which were accepted on the NYS tax website. Now they are saying it will take 90 days to review. So frustrated and worried.

In general, when the state asks for copies of the 1099s, they are looking at the issuer rather than the taxpayer.  Sometimes what the issuer reported does not match what was filed which causes issues, especially when there is withholding (and many times it is simply the reporting).  I would not worry because it does take time for their reviews.
