Question

Why would turbotax claim i need to upgrade for a form that i dont need for addtional tax on excess contributions or deductions 5329?? I can't even ask w/o being charged!

I work part time and go to school and i cant file for free because TT says I need form 5329. no explanation of why. just a charge for $79, which will give me a tax return of $17!

A form 5329 would only be required if you entered a Form 1099-R for distributions from a tax deferred retirement account and there was a distribution error based on your information.

 

If you did not enter a Form 1099-R, then delete the Form 5329

 

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form
