Trying to do a NEC 1099 for an LLC from Turbo Tax Home and Business.  The owner uses his rental property business with his Social but the vendors have a federal Employer ID.  When I bring up the form online the form will only let me put a social in for the vendor.  Can I send that way or is there a way to fix it to show the employer ID format?

You can use Quick Employer Forms to prepare your 1099-NEC's where you will see an option to enter the worker's federal ID number. You can access the software from within your TurboTax online program by entering Quick Employer Forms in the Search box on the upper right corner of your menu bar where you will find a link, or you can follow these steps in TurboTax:

1. Find the Federal section of TurboTax

2. Choose Wages and Income

3. Edit/Add your self-employment income and expense entry

4. Edit the self-employment entry you made

5. Edit or add Contractor Labor Expense

6. You will see an option to Help me prepare and file @-2s and 1099's, choose that option

On the screen where you enter the employee's company name and address, you will see Did your Contractor provide you with and EIN(Employer Identification Number)? You will see an option to check Yes, use EIN. You can then enter the EIN as opposed to the worker's social security number.
