If hiring a sitter to allow me to do a meeting/training can I deduct the cost of the babysitter? Food purchased for the sitter?

    Hello Winns,

You may be able to take a dependent care credit on your tax return for the child care but you will not be able to deduct the food purchased for the sitter. If you claim the credit for the child care expenses the person that you are paying must report the income. Here is a good article on what you can claim and how much.
