No, if you were issued a W-2, then you need to enter a W-2 on your tax return. The IRS will be expecting to see W-2 income reported by you.
If you mistakenly entered information from Form 1099-NEC into the W-2 section of TurboTax, then you can go back to the W-2 section to delete the W-2 form that was entered. You should see a summary of any W-2 entries that have been made. Click Delete or the trash can icon beside the one entered by mistake.
Then, use the following steps to get started entering your Form 1099-NEC:
On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
This opens a box where you can type in “1099-NEC” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
The search results will give you an option to “Jump to 1099-NEC”
