I am an artist and sell my work. I had to travel to a class in order to be able to complete my art. Can I deduct that?

Yes, as a self employed individual you are eligible to deduct any expenses that are necessary and ordinary in the course of business. Therefore a class that is required to be taken to complete your art work qualifies as a deduction. And the travel expenses for that class also qualify as a deduction.
