Do I need to report money from a medical study? I have a 1099 MISC but Turbo Tax says not to report income from 1099 MISC

Yes, income reported on a 1099-Misc needs to be included in your tax return.  Report your 1099-Misc from a Medical Study as 'Other Reportable Income'.

 

On the Income topics page, scroll all the way to the bottom, to 'Miscellaneous Income 1099-A, 1099-C'.

 

On the next screen, scroll all the way down to 'Other Reportable Income'.

 

Enter the description 'Income from Medical Study' and the Amount shown on the 1099-Misc.
