A 1099-NEC having an amount in Box 1 is a good indicator that it's self-employment income.
Open your return (if not already open).
Enter your Form 1099-NEC by Searching for "1099-NEC" and then
Select the "Jump to" link.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
After you enter the info from your form, the program will ask you a few questions to make sure it’s for self-employment. If it is not for self-employment, it will link the amount to the correct income section of your return.
