File tax refund 2023: How to do if I will not have a 1099 form?

I worked as a freelance consultant for a Korea-based company from May to June this year, and they paid me $5k (wire transfer) without giving me a 1099 form. They told me I have to find a way myself. What should I do?

Hi Khuong,

Thank you your question. Oftentimes we do not receive official documentation for income earned.

You can certainly use the wire transfer informatiion as confirmation of earnings for your self-employed income. The particular type of income would be considered cash or check!

    Do you mean that next year, when I use Turbo Tax to file my tax refund, I just need to input the number ($5k) into the system and that's it?
