Freelance Book Sales

I self-published a photography book and sold a couple hundred copies to family and friends. I plan on taking the deductions for the lab, layout and printing costs. But how do I report the sales ?  As a contract photographer I receive 1099NECs, but that is separate from my book sales. Thank you.

Your book sales are self-employment income. If you want to keep your book sales business separate from your photography business, you need to create another business in TurboTax for your book sales. You'll then have two Schedule C's, one for your book sales and one for your Photography.

To report your income from the book sales, see Where do I enter Schedule C?

To deduct your book sales related expenses, see Where do I enter my self-employment business expenses, like home office, vehicle mileage, and supplies?
