Wife worked from home for 2 months before retiring. Turbo Tax showing as self employed

If your wife received income reported on a 1099-NEC for those two months then she was technically a self-employed contractor.

The upside to that is that any expenses that she had for working for those two months are deductible from her income.  The downside is that she does have to file a schedule C to report the income that she earned.
