How do I generate a 1099-MISC?

You need to give someone a 1099Misc?   You need the Self Employed version.  

You need to give a 1099NEC (previous a 1099Misc) to anyone you paid $600 or more to for the year. But not to corporations or for merchandise. You send the IRS a copy of the 1099NEC with the transmittal summary form 1096. These are due to the person by Jan 31 and to the IRS by Jan 31 also.

In the Online Self Employed version you use the Quick Employer Forms.  The forms are efiled to the IRS and you print and mail them to your contractors and employees.  Start an Online Self Employed version here,

Log into your account

Scroll down to Your Account and click on Show

Click on Create W-2s and 1099s

You may also create W-2's and 1099 forms using TurboTax CD / Download Home & Business.

Yes, in TurboTax Self-Employed (online version) you can create 1099s.  To create 1099s, after logging into your account, select Tax Home in the left margin.  Scroll down the screen and select Create W-2s and 1099s to begin the process.
