How to report 1099 Misc. income as a beneficiary of a deceased employee.

    Enter it into the 1099-MISC section of TurboTax.  Scroll down in the wages and income section to '1099-MISC and other common income.  Enter the information exactly as it is on your form.  Make sure to tell the system that you did not receive this payment as an attempt to earn money or in regular payments.

     

    The amount will be entered as taxable but will have no self employment taxes owed on it.
