Question

I am a family caregiver. I get a 1099 misc, but I'm not an employee, I don't own a business or trade. How do I report this untaxable income on line 8 sch. 1?

I'm not an employee, a trade or business, nor an independent contractor. 
These payments are paid by an insurance company for all medical payments in connection to a car accident settlement.

Are you providing services as part of a Medicaid waver or IHSS program?  What box is your 1099-misc is your payment amount?
