I am a w-2 employee but receive a car allowence that my employer gave me a 1099 misc box 1. do i have any options for expence write offs in 2022

No. As an employee, you cannot deduct job related expenses on your federal return, but depending on the state you live in, you may be able to deduct it for the state. You will enter your miles driven or vehicle expenses in the deductions and credits section of the federal return. Although, you will not get a federal deduction, the information, if applicable, will transfer to your state return.
