Question

I am clergy. I had a salary reduction agreement in 2022 to contribute to a 403b at church which is entered on w2-12 code E. However, turbotax is not picking up for SE

It is picking up wages w2-1 and housing allowance w2-14, but not pre-tax 403b employee contributions w2-12a-E

If the 403b amount is showing in Box 12 code E then the amount you contributed was pre-tax contributions from your W-2 wages. Since these are Pre-tax contributions, the amount shown in Box 1 on your W-2 already reflects your wages with those contributions deducted. 

 

So this deduction would not be shown in your Self-employment income/deductions.
