Self-employment income is reported on Schedule C, which is then included as part of your Form 1040 for your personal tax return.
If you have self-employment income and expenses, you will need to use the TurboTax Online Self-Employed version or one of the CD/downloaded versions of TurboTax. As you go through your return, you can indicate that you have business income or you own your own business. This will take you to the Schedule C section. Entering information from a Form 1099-NEC or Form 1099-MISC will also guide you to Schedule C.
Or, use the following steps:
On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
This opens a box where you can type in “schedule c” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
The search results will give you an option to “Jump to schedule c”
Click on the blue “Jump to schedule c” link
