I have a 1098-NEC and box 6 (state/payers state no) is blank. I cannot proceed without it. I live in Ohio, what do I do?

Do you mean 1099-NEC?

Try these options:

- Editing your 1099-NEC:

• From your Tax Home screen, under the income section, select self-employment
• Click Edit on your 1099-NEC section. Click on the little pen icon next to the 1099-NEC and clear all information from boxes 5-7. Since this is a self-employment income, you don't need to put the state info, unless it has the payers state ID. 

- Deleting the form and starting over:

• From your Tax Home screen, under the income section, select this,
• Delete form 1099-NEC and start over this section. When you do this, don't check the box for "My form has information in boxes 5-7"
