I have a 1099 misc. We do not have a business, it is just hobby income from Royalties of art. How do I report this as non self employment income?

Please follow the steps below on how to input information on Form 1099-Misc in an alternative method:

1) Open your Return and click on Tax Home from the Left Menu.

2) On the main screen, please click on Income & Expenses.

3) Scroll Down and you will see an option for Other Common Income.

4) Within the Other Common Income Section, you will see an Option for Form 1099-MISC.

This method will ensure that the Form 1099-Misc is not being treated as a self employment income.
