Question

If my one year old made $760 through modeling and received a 1099-NEC do we add that into our taxes or do I need to file completely separate taxes for him?

My one year old made $760 modeling for Carters last year and he received a 1099-NEC. I am just not sure if I can add that onto out taxes or he meeds to file taxes by himself. The taxpayer ID is also his social and not mine or my husbands if that makes any difference.

Yes  he has to file his own return for it.  He will owe Self Employment tax on it.

You don't include their income on your return. It would only go on their return if they are required to file one. To file a separate return for your dependent you need to set up a new account. Online is only good for one return per account. You can use the same email address for 5 accounts. They can probably use the Free Edition. How to start a new online return

Be sure on their return they check the box that says they can be claimed on someone else’s return. If their only income is W2 and under 12,950 they do not have to file a return except to get back any withholding taken out.

You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version. Or use any of the Desktop CD/Download programs. How to enter income from Self Employment
