If received 1099-misc form but not self employed

Plumber not self employed received 1099-misc?

Self-employed income is now reported on a 1099-NEC.  This refers to the "non-employee compensation" that is paid to a freelancer or contractor.  A 1099-MISC is for other monies paid to you like prizes/awards, rents, and royalties.
