Question

Is the bonus I received this year added to the overall amount of my salary? If not, should I put the amount I should’ve gotten or the taxed amount received on misc.?

We want to be sure we are putting down the correct numbers for the bonus received.

The bonus should be included in your gross income in box 1 of the W-2.  If you are unsure then you should contact your employer to verify.

Ask your employer if it's included on your W2.  Oh, did you get a 1099Misc for it?

When your employer provides you with a bonus, they will usually report it on your W-2 in box 1—but it's combined with your normal wages or salary. In the eyes of the Internal Revenue Service, your bonus is no different than the salary you receive.

Your employer should have included your bonus in box 1 of your W-2.

Per VolvoGirl and DoninGA, if you are unsure of whether your bonus is included in your box 1 income of your W-2, you should contact your employer to verify this.
