Is there a way to change a 1099 MISC to 1099 NEC without deleting the whole thing and re adding everything?

Unfortunately, no. You will need to re-enter the information under Form 1099-NEC and delete the 1099-MISC entry you do not need.

 

This process is required because a Form 1099-NEC is typically issued for services of a self-employed individual. The income would be reported on Schedule C.
