Question

It will not allow me out of Self-Employed mode and because I am amending, "clear and start over" will not work. What can I do to get out of self-employed mode?

Did you use Self-Employed when you filed the original return? What are you changing to amend? Did you add some income that is on a 1099NEC?

I did not. I am trying to complete our state at the moment as it was not complete when I filed. I've tried everything to get out of self employed mode but it won't allow me to do so.

Your issue is confusing. You started out by saying you are trying to amend and now you say you are trying to prepare a state return. What are you amending? Has anything been e-filed so far?
