Question

my 1099-MISC is from COLA retirement, not from self employment. Where do I enter this purpose? I can't find it

how do I report a COLA from my pension

    If it is reported in Box 3 of the 1099-MISC enter it under

     

    • Income
    • 1099-MISC and Other Common Income
    • Income from Form 1099-MISC
    • Type "Retirement Cola" for "Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC" or something similar
    • NO, not like work
    • Only received in 2024
    • NO intent to make money

     

    These questions/answers are TurboTax Questions, your answers are not part of your tax return. 

    This will force the program to report the 1099-MISC as "Other Income" and Not Self-Employment income.
