My misc. income summary does agree with the details I entered. The summary is almost double the actuals entered?

I entered $3,584 for and $3,894 for my wife.  The summary is showing amounts for both of us over $7,000 each.

There could be things in that category that you entered in other parts of the program. You can look on your Schedule 1 to see what is making up the Additional Income amounts on your form 1040. You can see Schedule 1 by following these steps in TurboTax:

 

  1. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu bar
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Look under Other Helpful links….
  4. Choose View Tax Summary
  5. Look in the left menu bar and choose Preview my 1040
  6. Scroll down the page to see form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3

  6. Scroll down the page to see form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3
